Our Competence
As a major manufacturer of turnkey equipment and installations,
we supply high-quality electrical and electronic equipment
packages to shipyards and shipping companies throughout the
world. At a technical level, we also actively participate in
leading-edge industry research programmes such as the
present
EU-funded projects:
ADOPT (http://adopt.rtdproject.net)
Navigation support for vessels in high waves
EPDIS (www.epdis.de)
Three-dimensional electronic pilot handbook
EC-DOCK (www.bmtproject.net/ecdock)
Automatic docking guide and mooring line monitor
SAFETOW (www.bmtproject.net/safetow)
Towing aid for salvage tugs, stability calculation, towing
prediction
SAFEDOR (www.safedor.com)
Innovative tools for safety-critical energy systems as well as
concepts of safer navigation
BMBF- funded projects:
ADANAV (www.adanav.de)
Adaptive track control for vessels with advanced propulsion
systems
SESIS
Design and simulation tool as an integrated platform for the
maritime partners in the design and construction process
We offer specialised capabilities in the design and development
of specific maritime equipment technologies. These include
advanced diesel-electric propulsion systems, shaft alternators
for economic power generation, shipborne automated monitoring
and control systems, navaids, integrated navigation and bridge
configurations, and internal and external communication technologies.
We regard ourselves as a partner to the shipbuilding industry.
That is, one who can be practically involved at preliminary
design stages of projects while helping to minimise costs and
ensure optimum functionality of differing components within the
framework of fully integrated systems.
All our sub-systems are modular in design and feature common
interfaces, enabling cost-effective assembly and operation of
integrated equipment for virtually any sea-going application
requiring optimum standards of operational efficiency and safety.
A typical example of this expertise is our latest advanced
bridge concept, the Ship Control Center (SCC), which sets
news standards for integrated assemblies. It combines all main
bridge equipment functions with all essential ship operation
functions.
